Creating Bloodline Masthead

As I Created the Logo/Masthead of our movie trailer, I decided to use the idea of using blood on the font to represent the blood in the bloodline title however this was a long process and took a bit of work so first I got a normal font with the name of our movie 'Bloodline' the font was called Urban Jungle however I wanted to make the Masthead original so I will Edit this Font to make it my own and simply use this as my basic template.

So to start, I made the entire font black removing the broken pieces inside as see before.

Next I had to add the the blood splatter effect so i found some royalty free Pre-Keyed Blood Splatter effects online.

I then had to add this onto the font to do this I simply had the blood splatter on top of the font I then highlighted the font and simply deleted the blood splatter that wasn't touching the font.

After I removed the unnecessary blood splatter.

 Another Pre-Keyed Blood Splatter effect.

I resized the blood splatter and placed it on top of the 'B'

 Another pre-keyed splatter effect.

After adding all the blood splatter effects onto the font, I didn't want to add too many to the font as I didn't want it to become over whelming, so I found this was the perfect amount.

I then found that the blood splatter wasn't quite visible, so then I changed the colour balance  and increased the colour levels for red much higher.

I then wanted to change the colour of the font but I didnt want it to be too basic and have flat colours so in turn I decided to get a texture picture and select the 'BLOODLINE' font and deleted the unnecessary background.

Original Picture used for the textured background on the font.

Final and finished Masthead/Logo complete.
